Malone Wine, the new wine brand from Malone, a French winery in Chantilly, Virginia, has taken off in the United States.
According to Wine Spectator, the brand has made a splash with its refreshingly fruity and floral aromas, which are perfect for summer.
“The Malone wine is so refreshing and refreshingly fresh and floral, but with the freshness of an orange or lemon, that’s what I really enjoy about it,” said Julia Bailes, a Malone blogger who wrote about the brand on her blog, Wine Spector.
“I also think the Malone wines are a really beautiful and elegant example of the way that the wine industry can be very, very diverse and inclusive.
It really does feel like a microcosm of what we want to see in America.”
But, according to Bailers, “most of the other brands I know of are really, really focused on being very trendy, and then all of a sudden, you can’t help but go, ‘Oh, it’s just me.’
It’s not like they’re just trying to be something that’s just for the touristy part of the country, or to make a buck off the tourist industry.”
Malone has grown steadily in popularity over the past year, with a market share that now tops 2 million bottles in the U.S. The brand’s first wine, Malone Blanc, was released in 2017, and the company has since expanded into other markets, including New York and California.
