Wine, spirits and food lovers will be delighted to hear that a new wine fridge from Lambruscos has been created from wood!
The new Lambruscos wine fridge, which is being unveiled at the International Wine Fair in Barcelona, was inspired by a wine and food refrigerator designed by the French artist Jean-Michel Lévesque in the 19th century.
“The idea came from a conversation with my son,” Lambruses owner Jean-François Lambrussas said.
“He told me that the idea of a fridge was something I had thought about for years, but I hadn’t really thought about what to do with it, or why I was so passionate about it.”

The kitchen’ was inspired on a wooden wine fridge created by French artist and architect Jean-Mélanie Lambruskas in the late 1800s.

“This has been a project that we’ve been working very hard on, and we’ve already made a prototype that has been in the shop for over three months.”
Lambridges hopes that the new wine refrigerator will inspire people to become more conscious of their food.
“There is a lot of talk now about the environmental impact of wine, and I’m excited to see what this project has to say about that,” he said.
“I think that people can really take it to the next level.
I hope people are inspired to use the fridge as a space to make and cook with, or to make something simple for dinner, for a party or just for the next occasion.”
It will also help to promote sustainable food production.
“Lembrusces team has spent years creating prototypes of the fridge and he hopes to get it into stores by the end of the year.”
If we can get it in stores before Christmas, we’ll start making it available to other restaurants as well,” Lambrausis said.
Lembridges is currently working on a project to create a wine shelf that can be used for food storage.
The project, called “The Wine Library”, is based on the idea that food is more than just a meal, and it is important that the wine shelf can be a place to store all the delicious and complex flavours of wine.”
Every wine has its own unique characteristics,” Lambrises said.
